DHAKA, March 3, 2024 (BSS) - Air Astra, country's youngest private airline, today announced the appointment of Sohail Majid as its Chief Commercial Officer. 

He has 25 years of experience in the aviation and travel industry and held leadership positions at US Bangla Airlines, Novoair, Regent Airways, Best Air, Singapore Airlines, SilkAir and China Southern, a press release said. 

Prior to joining Air Astra, Majid served as Chief Operating Officer at ShareTrip, one of the country's online travel agencies.

Air Astra, started its commercial operation on November 24 , 2022, currently operating 28 flights daily from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar, Chattagram, Sylhet and Saidpur with three French-built ATR 72-600 aircraft configured with 70 seats.
