CHATTOGRAM, March 11, 2024 (BSS) - Weekly tea sale end of season quality in Chattogram met with restricted demand. Blenders were more selective while loose tea buyers lent some support at the lower end of the market.
Bright teas continued to attract strong competition and were again a dearer market. Other varieties met with less demand with more withdrawals than last.
BROKENS: All descriptions met with a much less demand at lower rates with heavier withdrawals. Medium types met with fair demand and were a touch easier with some.
FANNINGS: Similarly, all varieties met with much less demand and prices eased further. There were heavy withdrawals. BLF teas met with some demand at easier rates with a lot of withdrawals.
DUST: 10,032 packages of tea on offer met with less demand. Only a few good liquoring Dusts were well competed for and sold around last levels. Mediums were easier with heavy withdrawals.
CTC DUST: 12,275 packages of Current Season Teas 12,275 packages of Current Season teas on offer met with a fair demand and sold well. Good liquoring Dusts sold well with Tk.5/- to Tk.10/- lower than last levels.
Mediums met with fair demand and sold well. Plain and BLF Dusts also met with fair demand with a few withdrawals. Blenders were active with fair interest from the loose tea buyers.
