DHAKA, March 17, 2024 (BSS) - The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) today observed the 104th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day.
Marking the Day, the high officials of the CAG office and other staff placed floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the CAG office this morning, said a press release.
The other programmes of the day include releasing balloons and pigeons, reciting verses from the Holy Quran, screening of documentary, children's art competition and award distribution, holding of discussion meeting, doa mahfil, and distribution of iftar items among the children of the orphanage.
Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Md Nurul Islam was present on the occasion as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Nurul said, "Bangabandhu means Golden Bangladesh and Bangladesh means Bangabandhu. The Office of the CAG has been rendering its duties and responsibilities with utmost sincerity and integrity in building a happy and prosperous 'Golden Bangla' imbued with patriotism, spirit of the War of Liberation, and ideology while it will continue to do so. It's our pledge,"
Meanwhile, in the doa mahfil, special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members, martyrs of the War of Liberation as well as seeking peace and prosperity of the country,"
Comptroller General Defense Finance Kamrun Nahar and other officials of the CAG office and Audit and Accounts Department were present.
