RAJSHAHI, April 15, 2024 (BSS) - Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has said they have adopted various time-fitting steps for generating job opportunities for unemployed youths. 

"We have already launched a skill development institute for providing freelancing training to the youths," he said, while addressing a get-together, reception and cultural function here on Sunday evening as chief guest.

Public University Students Association of Rajshahi (PUSAR) organized the function at Shilpakala Academy auditorium. A large number of former and present students of public universities, including Rajshahi University (RU), joined the ceremony.

Mayor Liton said they established the skill development institute for creating skilled human resources through training.

He mentioned that many people are seen earning huge money and bringing dollars from abroad through freelancing sitting at home as they are also working as remittance fighters.

Liton said they are very much intended to generate employment opportunities for the youths both boys and girls after the best use of the potential sector.

With Member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission Prof Pradip Kumar Pandey in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Prof Shafiqur Rahman Badsha, MP, former pro-vice-chancellor of RU Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan, Bagha Upazila Chairman Layeb Uddin Lavlu, Prof Jannatul Ferdous and Engineer Shamsul Alam.
