LONDON, April 22, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - European stock markets rallied at the start of trading on Monday following a strong opening to the week in Tokyo as oil prices slid on receding Middle East concerns.

London's FTSE 100 index jumped 1.2 percent to 7,986.32 points.

In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index won 0.6 percent to 8,068.48 points and Frankfurt's DAX gained 0.7 percent to 17,872.91.
