DHAKA, May 02, 2024 (BSS) - Country's both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange
(DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) today also witnessed an upward
trend like earlier as investors continued their buying spree on large-cap
issues amid optimism.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 31 points or 0.56 per cent to
settle at 5,615.65. The DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, and the DSE
Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 12.55 points to finish at 2,007.86 and 4.92
points closing at 1,232.43.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, decreased to Taka 7,106.26
million on the country's premier bourse which was Taka 8,357.25 million at
the previous session of the week.
Out of 395 issues traded, 207 closed green, 140 in the red and 48 remained
unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
ASIATICLAB topped the turnover chart, followed by MALEKSPIN, LOVELLO, ITC and
ORIONINFU.
SINOBANGLA was the day's best performer, posting a gain of 9.95 per cent
while RUPALIBANK was the worst loser, losing 15.07 percent.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher with the CSE All Share
Price Index - CASPI -advancing 98.33 points to settle at 16,051.40 and the
Selective Categories Index - CSCX gaining 58.92 points to close at 9,664.50.
Of the issues traded, 115 advanced, 84 declined and 23 remained unchanged on
the CSE.
The port city's bourse traded 1.19 crore shares and mutual fund units with a
turnover value of Taka 16.19 crore.
