DHAKA, May 9, 2024 (BSS) - Country's both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange
(DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), today plunged further due to
mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
The DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), finally went down
by nearly 30 points or 0.52 per cent to settle at 5,661.
The blue-chip index DS30, a group of 30 prominent companies, also dropped
almost 11 points to 2015 while the DSES Index, which represents Shariah-based
companies, shed 8 points to 1,242.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 9.11 billion which
was Taka 8.70 billion at the previous session of the week.
Most of the traded issues saw the price fall as out of 392 issues traded, 258
saw price erosion, 93 closed higher and 41 remained unchanged.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended lower with the CSE All Share
Price Index - CASPI -losing 81 points to 16,232.
