DHAKA, May 20, 2024 (BSS) - The Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF) has demanded of the central bank to withdraw its restrictions on access of the journalists to the central bank.

Otherwise, the ERF, a forum of economic reporters of the country, cautioned of waging tougher movements to press home their demands.

ERF president Refayet Ullah Mirdha and general secretary Abul Kashem made the demands at a press conference held at the ERF office in the capital's Paltan area.

Refayet said the journalists were earlier allowed to enter the central bank taking temporary passes after showing their identity cards. But, such practice remained inoperative over the last few months for which the journalists are not being able to do their professional duties properly.

He also demanded of the central bank to restore such system of easy access for the journalists to the Bangladesh Bank showing their identity cards.
