DHAKA, June 8, 2024 (BSS) - The 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) was held on Friday at a hotel in the city.
In the opening remarks, Secretary and CEO of the Institute Md Zakir Hossain welcomed all members in the AGM.
Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS, President of the Institute presided over the meeting and placed the council report for the year 2023. The president of ICSB, in his speech, highlighted the major activities and achievements of the institute during the year 2023.
Among them successfully holding of 10th ICSB National Award for Corporate Governance Excellence 2022, successfully conducting training programmes, CPD programmes and seminars, unveiling of new website, launching of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), MoU signing with different Organizations, getting recognition of the profession by an Act of Parliament in the Income Tax Act, 2023, receiving verdict on the land case in favour of ICSB at Aftab Nagar were the major events and milestones.
He also thanked the members for their valuable suggestions and relentless cooperation towards the development of the institute.
A large number of members were present at the meeting and participated in the discussion on Annual Report. They appreciated the performance of the institute. They also asserted that the council is working hard to successfully achieve the targets committed earlier and also to materialize the long cherished dream to bring the institute to a new height in turning it as a 'Center of Excellence'.
The Audited Financial Statements of the institute for the year ended 31 December 2023 were presented by the Treasurer of ICSB Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun FCS before the members. The members approved the council report and financial statements of the institute.
"M/S A. Qasem and Co., Chartered Accountants" was appointed as the external auditors of the institute for the year 2024.
Senior Vice President M Nurul Alam FCS, Vice President Mr. A. K. M. Mushfiqur Rahman FCS, council members, fellow and associate members were also present at the meeting.
