Khulna cattle markets humming with customers

KHULNA June 15, 2024 (BSS) - Cattle markets in Khulna city and nine upazilas of the district are humming with customers.

People from both the industrial city and adjacent areas are rushing to cattle markets to purchase their sacrificial animals as only one day is left for the Eid.

Mohammad Limon Haque, a seller from Narail, said he brought 10 oxen to the Zoragate cattle market for sale. Three of them have been sold at over Tk 1,50,000.
“I am very pleased with the management system, especially for installing CC TV cameras at the cattle market, forming medical teams,” he said, adding that no untoward incidents happened here as police patrolled round the clock.

Suvo Khan, a principal officer of Sonali Bank, said he came to the Zoragate cattle market as the availability of sacrificial animals here is more than in other cattle markets and the price is comparatively less than other cattle markets.
