RAJSHAHI, Oct 3, 2024 (BSS) - A month-long trade fair of micro–entrepreneurs’ products began at the green plaza of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) here today with the objective of expansion and popularization of the products of small entrepreneurs.

Locally produced goods including crockery, handloom ware, garments, toys, leather goods, jute-made products, processed agricultural products, electrical and electronic goods, clothes, design and fashion wares, among others, are being displayed at the fair.

A total of 47 stalls were set up in the fair organised by Shuchona Enterprise. The fair will remain open for public from 10 am to 10 pm every day.

RCC Administrator and Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir opened the fair as the chief guest saying the main motto of the fair is to encourage the micro-entrepreneurs.

Stressing the need for continuing such a type of initiative to bolster the Rajshahi's economy, he said the initiative will play a crucial role to generate women entrepreneurship coupled with creating scopes of marketing of their finished goods.

He also viewed that the micro-entrepreneurs not only elevate their personal conditions but also play an important roles towards uplifting the country's overall economic condition.

He assured of extending possible support to the micro-entrepreneurs as they continue their business activities despite facing multifarious challenges.

 In this connection, he said emphasis should be given on attracting the investors for expanding trade and business in the region.
