DHAKA, Nov 3, 2024 (BSS) – Month-long services will be provided to tax payers in all tax zones in this November to facilitate income tax return submission.
National Board of Revenue (NBR), instead of organizing income tax fair, has taken the decision of extending return submission related services for the tax payers, said a NBR press release here today.
It said a comprehensive programme of income tax information and services has been undertaken throughout the month of November with the aim of developing tax culture, increasing tax awareness and gaining the trust and confidence of the tax payers.
Various services will be provided to the tax payers in each tax zone in this Income Tax Information-Services Month.
Eligible tax payers can file their personal income tax return for the tax year-2024-2025 in the designated tax zones.
The website of each tax zone contains income tax related forms, circulars, return filling guidelines, video tutorials and other necessary information.
Return acceptance booths and help desks will be set up in open spaces in each office to accept returns and provide immediate acknowledgment receipt to the tax payers.
Besides, e-TIN registration, online return registration, online return filing, e-payment (A-challan and others) will be provided at the Income Tax Information Service Center.
E-TIN registration, online return registration, online return filing facility and help desk will be set up at Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka for the government officers/employees of the Secretariat under the management of Tax Zone-4 and Tax Zone-16 to provide tax information services till November 18.
On the other hand, tax information services will be provided at the Planning Commission on November 24-28, while same service will be available at Dhaka University (DU) on November 18-19 under the management of Tax Zone-11, Dhaka.
Taxpayers are specifically requested to file returns online.
Moreover, training on online return registration and online return filing procedures will be provided to members of the armed forces with the help of Tax Zone-9, Dhaka, so that all of them could file online return.
On the occasion of the celebration of Income Tax Information Service Month 2024, extensive publicity campaign have been undertaken in radio, television, print and online media.
Messages, articles and picture of President, Chief Adviser, Finance Adviser, NBR Chairman, Member (Tax Administration and Human Resource Management) and Convener (Income Tax Information-Service Month 2024 Celebration Committee) will be published in special supplements of the national dailies on this day.
In order to increase public awareness in paying income tax, meetings and discussion programmes on various TV channels with the participation of senior officials of NBR, business leaders and related dignitaries have been arranged.
Posters, stickers, balloons, colorful festoons and banners with different motivational slogans will be displayed in various tax zones to increase public awareness to this end.
