DHAKA, Nov 07, 2024 (BSS) – The no-food point-to-point inflation rate eased slightly last month as it reached 9.34 percent in October, down from 9.5 percent a month ago, according to the latest data of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
But, the general point-to-point inflation rate increased last month (October) as it reached 10.87 percent in October due to increase in food inflation.
The BBS said food inflation hit 12.66 percent in October, up from 10.40 percent in September.
The general point to point inflation both at the urban and rural areas also increased last month.
The point to point inflation in the rural areas in October was 11.26 percent, up from 10.15 percent in September. On the other hand, the point to point inflation rate in the urban areas in October was 10.44 percent, up from 9.83 percent in September.
The wage rate index in October witnessed an uptrend with 8.07 percent which was 8.01 percent in September.
