DHAKA, Dec 5, 2024 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has fined controversial investor Abul Kalam Matber and his associates Tk77.21 crore for manipulating the shares of Fortune Shoes from 3 October 2021 to 26 October 2021.
The commission today fined the investors in its 934th meeting, said a press release.
Of the investors, Abul Kalam Matber has been fined Taka 7.20 crore, DIT Cooperative Limited Tk 15 crore, Kazi Sadia Hasan Tk 25 crore, Konika Afroze Tk 19 crore, Md Abul Khayer Tk 11 crore and Sajed Madbar Tk 1 lakh.
The capital market regulator also fined eight investors Tk 49.85 crore for manipulating the shares of Delta Life Insurance Limited from 09 September 2021 to 26 September 2021.
Of the investors, Sajed Madbar has been fined Tk 1.60 crore, Mohammad Basher Tk 1.15 crore, Md Abul Khayer Tk 19.15 crore, Konika Afroze Tk 2.90 crore, Kazi Sadia Hasan Tk 1.90 crore, Kazi Fuad Hasan Tk 1 lakh, DIT Cooperative Limited Tk 84 lakh and Abul Kalam Matber Tk 22.30 crore.
