DHAKA, Dec 12, 2024 (BSS)- Textiles and Jute Adviser SK Bashir Uddin today warned against the hoarders of jute saying stern action would be taken against them who would create any crisis in jute sector.
“Some traders are stockpiling jute as they are trying to create artificial crisis. We will take tough action against them to ease the market,” he said.
The adviser said this while inaugurating Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC) marking six-day long jute fair and exhibition at JDPC auditorium at Farmgate.
Secretary of Textiles and Jute Ministry Md. Abdur Rauf presided over the function while Executive Director of JDPC Zinat Ara, among others, spoke on the occasion.
The Adviser urged the jute producers to remain carful about the needs of the local and international consumers and produce high quality jute and jute products to fulfill their needs.
Highlighting the importance of jute to country’s economy the adviser urged everyone for producing good quality jute products so that the subsidized sector doesn’t fall sick.
The Adviser urged the countrymen to use jute made goods and discard polythene shopping bag to save the environment.
Holding responsible the ousted Awami League (AL) government for destroying the jute sector the adviser said the present government is working relentlessly for revival of the sector and change the fortune of the people working in this sector.
