RANGPUR, Dec 28, 2024 (BSS) - The 51st Annual General Meeting (AGM)-2024 of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) was held today aimed at creating young entrepreneurs and increasing trade and commerce among SAARC countries.
The day long AGM was held in a joyful atmosphere at the RCCI auditorium with Rangpur Chamber President Md Akbar Ali in the chair.
According to the agenda, the minutes of the previous AGM and the annual report of the president were presented to the meeting.
In addition, the annual audit report and statement of accounts of the Rangpur Chamber for the fiscal year 2023-‘24, the appointment of the auditor for 2025, and the revised budget for 2024 and the proposed budget for 2025/2026 were presented.
Vice-President of Rangpur Chamber Md Mozammel Haque Dambel, its former director Md Shahjahan Babu, General Members- Md Kamal Hossain, Sohel Md Noor Elahi, Md Masum Khan, Alhaj Md Moyen Uddin, Alhaj Md Abu Salek, Md Salaqur Rahman, Rashidus Sultan Bablu, Md Tajul Islam Sarkar, Rashed Rana Rasu, Md Azizullah, Partha Bose, Ariful Islam, Abu Bakkar Siddique, Md Shamsud Tibrij and Md Mizanur Morshed, participated in the discussions of different sessions.
The speakers put forward constructive proposals to further accelerate the activities of Rangpur Chamber.
Rangpur Chamber President Akbar Ali hoped in accelerating the pace of economic development of Rangpur division by organizing workshops/seminars in the coming year to create young entrepreneurs and increase trade and commerce among SAARC countries.
He said that during the tenure of the existing board of directors, meetings/seminars were organized in various forums on issues related to law enforcement, district and divisional administrations, import-export, banking and VAT-tax to ensure smooth operation of trade, commerce and industrialization activities.
In these meetings, they put forward different proposals to the authorities concerned to resolve various problems of businessmen and industrialists. Many problems have already been resolved, he added.
He also mentioned the issue of organizing views exchange meetings with ambassadors of different countries to expand bilateral trade and commerce.
