Brazil can be a gateway to Latin America for Bangladeshi businessmen: Brazilian diplomat

RANGPUR, Jan 18, 2025 (BSS) - Deputy Head of Mission at the Brazilian embassy in Dhaka Leonardo de Oliveira Jannuzzi has said Brazil can be a gateway in the future to connect Bangladeshi private sector businesspersons with Latin American markets.
 
"We have great potential to expand trade, commerce and investment in Brazil and Bangladesh to increase connectivity and interaction between the private sectors of our two friendly countries," he said.
 
The Brazilian diplomat said this in his speech as the chief guest at a meeting arranged on the occasion of the June 15-18 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the RCCI auditorium of Rangpur Chamber Bhaban on Saturday. 
 
“Businessmen of Rangpur can utilize the trade potential of their manufactured products by participating in the 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition to showcase products and promote relations between the private sectors of both countries,” he said.
 
This expo exhibition can expand the trade potential between the two countries and Brazil can act as a bridge to connect Bangladeshi private sector traders with the markets in other Latin American countries such as Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia and so on. 
 
There are many vital areas in Bangladesh economy such as readymade garments, pharmaceuticals, fish, ceramics and other private sector products which can be shown to the Brazilian customers and Brazilian markets in the Expo-2025.
 
He highly appreciated the the Brazil-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing the 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition in Sao Paulo, Brazil from June 15 to 18 next. 
 
“I express my strong hope that the event will be successful. So, we hope the private sector of Rangpur region will strongly participate in the Jun 15-18 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition at San Paulo in Brazil,” he said.
 
Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Md Akbar Ali chaired the event while Brazil-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Director Imran Chowdhury and Secretary General Md Joynal Abedin were present as special guests. 
 
The Rangpur Chamber President in his welcome speech sought the cooperation of the Brazilian Embassy in increasing bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Brazil, identifying potential sectors, removing trade barriers, exploring easier ways for smooth trade transactions, and increasing mutual cooperation. 
 
He expressed gratitude to the Brazilian government and businessmen for their support in organizing the 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition to be held for the first time in Sao Paulo, Brazil from June 15 to 18, 2025.
 
He said, 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition will promote Bangladesh's exportable products, diversify the market, strengthen bilateral trade and facilitate trade networking in Latin America, especially Brazil.”
 
He warmly invited the industrialists-businessmen and importers-exporters of Rangpur to participate in this 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition to tap the trade potential of the two countries. 
 
Secretary General of Brazil-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md Joynal Abedin presented detailed information on organizing the 'Made in Bangladesh Expo-2025' exhibition in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 
 
Officers and directors of the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, industrialists and businessmen, importers and exporters, and journalists from print and electronic media were present at the exchange of views.
