BMCCI hosts reception honoring new Malaysian envoy

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) has hosted a reception in honour of Mohd Shuhada Othman, the newly appointed High Commissioner of Malaysia in Dhaka. 

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats, government officials, BMCCI past presidents, and valued members of the chamber, said a press release.

Welcoming the newly appointed envoy, BMCCI President Shabbir A Khan highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Bangladesh and Malaysia.

 The president expressed confidence that under the leadership of new envoy, bilateral relations would strengthen further by finding new avenues for collaboration and investment.

He reaffirmed BMCCI's commitment in promoting trade and investment opportunities and looking forward to working closely with the High Commission to enhance cooperation and build a dynamic partnership that benefits both nations to strengthen the relationship between two nations greater than ever. 

Acknowledging the role of BMCCI in maintaining a robust bilateral business relationship, Mohd Shuhada Othman expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to BMCCI. 

The high commissioner confirmed his commitment to maintain ongoing relations with Bangladesh and the business community, with a focus on minimizing the trade gap. 

Othman also recognized the support provided by BMCCI in the past and sought the Chamber's continued assistance in his future initiatives. 

He underscored his priorities of fostering investment in Bangladesh and bridging the business between the two nations.
