DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day 13th International Poultry Show will begin in the capital on February 20, 2025.
More than 200 organizations from some 17 countries would showcase their state-of-the art technology and products in the show.
World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA), Bangladesh and Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) have jointly revealed this at a seminar here today.
The seminar titles ‘Building a resilient poultry industry in Bangladesh: Evolution, challenges and strategy’ held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in the capital. Members of the Fisheries and Livestock Journalists Forum (FLJF) organized the seminar.
The seminar was informed that an international poultry seminar would be held at a hotel in the capital on February 18-19 while the 13th International Poultry Show would remain open for all from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on February 20-22, 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center at Purbachal.
From the 300 feet Kuril Biswa Road, arrangements have been made for free shuttle buses centering the show all throughout the day.
The speakers at the seminar said that the prices of eggs and chicken would remain at a tolerable state during the Holy Month of Ramadan, said a press release.
World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) – Bangladesh President Moshiur Rahman said that the local poultry industry has been working with a long-term plan keeping ahead the year 2050.
Seeking special attention of the government in the country’s poultry sector, he stressed on optimum utilization of technology in production of protein in the shortest possible time, modernizing farm management and increasing expenditure in research.
Replying to a question, Moshiur said that there is no possibility of price hike of chicken and eggs during the upcoming Holy Month.
He also informed that the Department of Livestock Services and the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPICC) would sell chicken and eggs at farm rate throughout the capital during the Holy Month like the previous years.
World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA) – Bangladesh General Secretary Biplob Kumar Pramanik said that they are working to keep the prices of chicken and eggs within the purchasing power of common people.
Breeders Association of Bangladesh (BAB) President Mahbubur Rahman, Feed Industries Association General Secretary Mohammad Nazrul Islam spoke, among others, on the occasion presided over by FLJF President Munna Raihan.
DBC News Editor Loton Ekram, RTV Head of News Ilias Hossain and FLJF General Secretary Zahidur Rahman also spoke.
