Tipu urges realtors to play more responsible role

DHAKA, Dec 23, 2021 (BSS) - Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi today urged the
development companies of the country to play a more responsible role in
protecting the interests of the clients.

"Those who live in the capital and also in other big cities do expect their
own place of residence. The government has been extending all necessary
support to the companies of the real estate sector," he said.

The Commerce Minister said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of
the five-day REHAB Fair-2021 as the chief guest held at the Bangabandhu
International Conference Centre (BICC).

Organised by the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB),
Housing and Public Works Secretary Md Shahid Ullah Khandaker and FBCCI
President Md Jashim Uddin spoke on the occasion as special guests presided
over by REHAB President Alamgir Shamsul Alamin (Kajol), said a ministry press
release.

RAJUK Chairman ABM Amin Ullah Nuri spoke on the occasion as the guest of
honour while REHAB senior vice president Intekhabul Hamid, REHAB 1st vice
president and fair standing committee co-chairman Kamal Mahmud and REHAB vice
president (finance) and fair standing committee chairman Engineer Mohammad
Sohel Rana, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commerce Minister urged the real estate
companies not to cheat with the common people since they usually buy flats
with their life-long savings.

Noting that the real estate sector of the country has advanced a lot over
the years, Tipu said that this sector is growing gradually with the
involvement of a huge workforce.

He mentioned that the government is working sincerely to build the big cities
in a planned way seeking all-out cooperation from the concerned stakeholders
in this regard.

The Commerce Minister also urged all to play their due role from their
respective positions to build Bangladesh as a developed country by 2041.
