DHAKA, Dec 30, 2021(BSS) – A loan agreement of 283 million has been signed between Bangladesh and European Investment Bank (EIB) to purchase Covid-19 vaccine and strengthen the healthcare system.
A finance contract (FC) has been signed in this regard with EIB under a project titled `Bangladesh Covid-19 Public Health program’.
Secretary of Economic Relations Division Fatima Yasmin and Head of Asia and Pacific Division Edvardas Bumsteinas and Legal Counsel Imanol Lecue Gurtbay signed the loan agreement on behalf of Bangladesh and EIB respectively on Wednesday, said a press release.
The main objectives of the finance programme are to purchase and supply vaccines for the prevention of Covid-19 infections, strengthening the healthcare system and expanding social security in the health sector.
