DHAKA, Aug 3, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh received US$3.132 billion in remittances during the period from July 1 to August 2 of the current fiscal year (FY2026-27), marking a 23.4 percent increase compared to US$2.538 billion received during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
According to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank, expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$193 million in remittances on August 2 alone.
The central bank data showed that total remittance inflows reached US$273 million during the first two days of August, up sharply from US$61 million received during the same period in August last year, registering a remarkable 351.6 percent year-on-year growth for the month, so far.
The strong inflow follows a record performance in July, when the country received US$2.859 billion in remittances, reflecting continued confidence among expatriate Bangladeshis in using formal banking channels.
