DHAKA, Feb 16, 2022 (BSS) – CCCI Japan Desk will facilitate business ties between Japanese and Bangladeshi Private Sectors through providing legal, business and market information, linkage and policy-advocacy service.

The information was come today at a webinar for Japanese Investors to attract investment in Bangladesh, particularly in Chattogram, said a press release. 

The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Japan Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) jointly hosted the webinar. 

CCCI President Mahbubul Alam in his opening remarks greeted everyone on the occasion of 50 years of Japan Bangladesh Friendship.

 He said “For investments to grow in the time of 4thIndustrial revolution, we need strong technical know-how and experience. Japan and its private sector can play the pivotal role through bringing their technology and experience of large scale industrialization. Bangladesh and Japan economies have complementary characteristics.”

He said Bangladesh has a young population while Japan has the capital and investment to leverage this asset. 

Bangladesh has a growing middle class population and Japan has the technology to serve this market, he added.

He said there are excellent opportunities for our private sector to explore joint investment and trade opportunities in Bangladesh targeting local, regional and global export market. 

He urged Japanese investors to connect with CCCI Japan Desk for their investment related queries in Bangladesh and Chattogram.

Country Representative of JETRO Dhaka Yuji Ando shared a brief presentation on CCCI Japan Desk and the excellent economic situation in Bangladesh and importance of Chattogram region and future growth possibility of Chattogram into a global industrial hub. 

He said “CCCI Japan Desk run by its partners Legal Counsel, New Vision Solutions Ltd. and Bangladesh Center of Excellence (BCE) along with JETRO Dhaka will facilitate business ties between Japanese and Bangladeshi Private Sectors through providing legal, business and market information, linkage and policy advocacy service.”

Managing Director of New Vision Solution Ltd Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan (Jun) presented about Bangladesh Market Insight and potential ten sectors for investment. 

He said “Considering the fast growing middle class in Bangladesh this is an ideal time for Japanese investors to invest in Chattogram of Bangladesh”. 

JBCCI President Asif A Chowdhuryin his closing remarks stated that “CCCI Japan Desk as a development tool can help developing and developed companies alike to promote connectivity, investments, and match making”. 

He lauded the collective effort of CCCI, JETRO and JBCCI and thanked esteemed speakers for their insightful deliberations.
