RAJSHAHI, July 21, 2022 (BSS) - A daylong job fair was held at the conference hall of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (RCCI) today creating scopes of new jobs for some 50 graduate youths.
In the fair, job confirmation was given to six youths including four females, besides accepting curriculum vitae (CV) of 79 others for scrutiny.
Rajshahi Regional Office of renowned non-government organization Caritas Bangladesh organized the job fair in collaboration with German Financing Association Consulting Group (GFACG) under the ‘Urban Management of Internal Migration due to Climate Change (UMIMCC)’ and the Urban Management of Migration and Livelihood (UMML) projects.
In the sideline of the fair, a seminar was held at the same venue discussing and devising ways and means on how to expand the job opportunities for the graduates on various trades and vocations.
RCCI President Masudur Rahman, Team Leader of GFA CG Alastair Machin, Deputy Team Leader Habibur Rahman and GIZ Adviser Akhtaruzzaman addressed the seminar as resource persons with Caritas Regional Director Debit Hembrom in the chair.
Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services Dr Abdullah Al Firoj and local unit president of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries Prof Rozety Naznin also spoke.
Chamber leader Masudur Rahman said the concerned institutions should work together to bridge the existing gap between industry and training institutes.
At the same time, in order to make the youth proficient in various professions, they need to be given proper training. To this end, industry and training institutions must come forward and work together.
During the day-long fair, youth job-seekers including male and female submitted their CVs at the designated booths of various employer organizations.
Representatives of the Human Resources Department of the industries participating in the fair handed over the appointment letters to the selected candidates through oral examination after verifying and selecting the submitted CVs.
