DHAKA, Sept 13, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh-built 6100 DWT, a high-speed multi-
purpose container ship, has completed its technical handover export process 
to the United Kingdom buyer "Enzian Shipping Company Ltd."
 
The ship has a built-in Ananda Shipyard located at Meghna Ghat of Sonargaon 
Upazila of Narayanganj, said a press release. 
 
The handing-over ceremony was held today in the Inter-Continental hotel 
graced by the State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury as the 
chief guest.
 
The vessel was technically handed over to the buyer, Enzian Shipping Company 
Ltd, Antigua, United Kingdom, in a ceremony on the shipyard premises on 
Thursday, 8th September 2022 after completing test trails and compliance 
diligence.
 
Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, in his speech, said Bangladesh exported a modern 
multipurpose container ship to the United Kingdom today. This is our day of 
pride.
 
At the event, Chairman of the Ananda Shipyard Dr Abdullah Bari said Ananda 
Shipyard has been building international standard ships at Meghnaghat in 
Sonargaon for more than 30 years.
 
The yard has an annual production capacity of building ships and vessels 
needing about 30,000 tons of steel, he added. 
 
He said Ananda Shipyard has introduced popularized and expanded modern 
shipbuilding techniques and methods in this country.
