DHAKA, Oct 11, 2022 (BSS) - Stocks today witnessed flat with downward trend of major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges due to price fall mainly in some large-cap securities.
DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, went up by 0.29 point to settle at 6,449.92. The DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, also dropped 4.08 points to finish at 2,310.05 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) dropped 0.84 point to close at 1,415.02.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, declined to Taka 10,103.53 million which was Taka 14,175.27 million at the previous session of the week.
Out of 368 issues traded, 80 declined, 73 advanced and 215 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
Orion Pharma continued to top the turnover list, followed by Beximco, EHL, Sonali Paper and IBP.
SEAPEARL was the top gainer, posting a 9.97 per cent gain while Peninsula was the day's worst loser, losing 7.98 per cent following its corporate declarations.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also slipped into the red with the CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI -losing 38.09 points to settle at 19,011.68 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX - shedding 23.95 points to close at 11,395.13.
Of the issues traded, 77 declined, 38 advanced and 103 issues remained unchanged on the CSE trading floor.
The port city's bourse traded 39.27 lakh shares and mutual fund units with a turnover value worth over Taka 17.49 crore.
