KHULNA, Dec 15, 2022 (BSS)-All preparations have already been completed to celebrate December 16, the 52nd anniversary of the country’s victory over the Pakistani occupation forces, pledging to establish a non-communal prosperous and develop Bangladesh with the spirit of the Liberation War.
Khulna district administration has taken up elaborate programmes through a meeting on November 17 to observe the 52nd anniversary of the victory day.
The programme will begin through heralded by a 31-gun salute at dawn at the Khulna Police Line at Boyra area in the city.
Hoisting of national flags atop of all public and private buildings at dawn and placing of wreaths by the people of all walks of life at the Gallyamary Monument on the day.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Zillur Rahman Chowdhury will be hoisting the national flag at Khulna Zilla Stadium and will take salute from the parade at around 8.30am.
Different organizations including freedom fighters and law enforcement agencies will exhibit parade and exercise at the same venue.
All educational institutions including madrasa will also organise various programmes on Liberation War, sports including football, cricket, Ha-du-du will also held in the city and all upazila schools and colleges will screened movies on the Liberation War at all cinema halls from 11.00am to 12,00pm.
Exhibition on Liberation War based still pictures will be displaced at Shaheed Hadis Park by local Press Information Department (PID) from 12.00pm to evening.
Khulna divisional museum, Naval Ship and Daxindhi Rabindra Complex Museum will be opened for all from the morning to 5.00 pm while a reception to the freedom fighters and children of Shaheed freedom fighters will be held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner.
Sports competition for women will be held at Pioneer Secondary Girls School while Football competition for men will be held at Khulna district stadium.
A discussion and prize distribution ceremony among the winners of art and essay competition will be held at Shaheed Hadis Park followed by a cultural programme.
Special prayers will be offered at mosques, temples, churches and other religious institutions, seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country.
Improved diet will be served at all hospitals, orphanages and jails to mark the day.
State-run Khulna Betar will broadcast special programmes while the local newspapers will bring out special supplements on the occasion.
A discussion meeting on life sketch of Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin will be held at Rupsha Ghat area on December 16.
