TANGAIL, Dec 15, 2022 (BSS) - Three people were killed and 12 others injured in separate road accidents in the district today.

The first accident occurred at 9 am when a passenger bus hit a pickup van in Dullah Munsur area on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Mirzapur upazila. The helper of the bus died on the spot and 10 others were injured.

The deceased was identified as Munna, 28, hailed from Nilphamari district.

The second accident occurred at around 9:30am when a truck collided head on with an auto rickshaw in Jagotpura area on Tarakandi-Bhuapur Road. A college student named Ishrak, 19, died of the spot. He was a resident in Jamalpur district. Two people including his father were also injured in the accident.

Besides, a vehicle crushed a motorcycle on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Basail Upazila. The unidentified motorcyclist died on the spot.

Sources said at least eight road accidents occurred this morning on busier Dhaka-Tangail Highway this morning due to dense fog.

Two bodies were brought to Gorai Highway Thana while the rest one sent to Bhuapur Upazila Health Complex.
