JAMALPUR, Jan 8, 2023 (BSS) - Local lawmaker and renowned freedom fighter Engineer Mozaffar Hossain today said that it is painful and shameful for us when we see the domestic workers have been becoming the victims of repression by their work providers.

 
“We should change these inhuman activities and make practice to ensure their rights,” he said this while addressing a meeting on the promotion of the women empowerment and their rights at sadar upazila parishad auditorium here.

Unnayan Sangha, a non-government organization, arranged the meeting with Assistant Commissioner (AC-land) of Sadar Upazila Barkat Ullah was in the chair.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Abul Hossain, woman vice-chairman Farzana Yesmin Lita, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Uttom Kumar Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge Jamalpur Sadar Kazi Shahnewaz, Executive Director of the Unnayan Sangha Md Rafiqul Islam Molla and Project Coordinator Joysna Aktar spoke, among others, at the meeting.

The local MP also called upon all to be careful and humanitarian to behave with the domestic workers who get low wages for their hardworking.
