LAXMIPUR, Jan 25, 2023 (BSS) - A total of nine shops were gutted in a fire at

Hiran Market near the Old Municipality of the district city in the early
hours of today.

The fire originated from an electric short-circuit at a shop of the market
around 2.30am and soon engulfed the adjacent business establishments, Station
Officer of Laxmipur Fire Service and Civil Defence Ranjit Kumar Das said.

Being informed, two units of Laxmipur Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed
to the spot and doused the blaze after one-hour of frantic efforts with the
help of locals and affected businessmen, he added.
