NETRAKONA, Feb 9, 2023 (BSS) - Speakers at a workshop here today stressed creating mass awareness to check spread of disinformation, rumors and propaganda on digital platform.

They also viewed for building up a social movement to stop the spread of digital disinformation, fake news, rumors and propaganda for highlighting the truth and actual picture of the society as well as promoting good governance.

 Institute for Environment and Development (IED) with the support of The Asia Foundation organized the workshop and campaign on "Combating digital disinformation to promote good governance" at Netrakona municipality hall room.

Mayor of Netrakona municipality Nazrul Islam Khan addressed the workshop as the chief guest with valiant freedom fighter and convener of Jono Uddug Netrakona Haider Jahan Chowdhury in the chair.
 
The function was addressed, among others, by teacher of Jahangir Nagar university Isthiak Raihan, panel mayor of Netrakona municipality S M Mohosin Alam, writer professor Noni Gopal Sarker, district correspondent of the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha M Faqrul Haque, senior journalists Pallab Chakraborty, Kamal Ahmed and writer Tanvir Jahan Chowdhory.
 
Member secretary of Jono Uddug, Netrakona and senior journalist Shamolendu Paul moderated the workshop and campaign program.
