RANGPUR, Feb 13, 2023 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an accused person on charge of raping a four and half-year old minor girl of Dinajpur from Salonga Thana area in Sirajganj district on Sunday night.
 
"The arrested man is Md. Mominul Islam, 23, son of Md. Dulal Hossain of village Dakshin Raghunathganj in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur," said a press release issued here today.
 
As per a case filed by the victim's father with Birganj police station in Dinajpur on January 26 last, the accused raped the girl at his bedroom in absence of his wife and fled from the spot on January 23 last.
 
Alongside the police, RAB-13 enhanced intelligence activities and started a shadow investigation into the case to nab the only absconding rapist.
 
On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13 jointly with the Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) of RAB-12 conducted a raid at Salonga area in Sirajganj and arrested Mominul last night.
 
For taking further legal actions against the arrested person, the elite force handed him over to Birganj police station today, the release added.
