RAJSHAHI, Feb 17, 2023 (BSS) - Two youths were killed on the spot when their motorbike collided head-on with a truck here this afternoon.

The fatal road mishap occurred at Naodapara area under Charghat Upazila in the district around 5.30 pm.

Mahbubur Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charghat Police Station, told BSS that the deceased were identified as Anik Hassan, 18, son of Tazibur Rahman, and his friend Murad Mahmud, 17, son of Aminul Islam, both of Tentuliapukur village under Puthiya Upazila of the district.  

OC Alam said they were going to visit charghat riding on motorbike and they fell prey to the accident when the truck coming from the opposite direction knocked them down.

Being informed by local people, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.

 Police also seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to escape.

A case has been lodged with Charghat Police Station in this connection, the OC added.
