NAOGAON, Feb 27, 2023 (BSS) - A total of 23 physically-challenged people were given free of cost wheelchairs for making them self-reliant through removing their mobility problem of the district today.
 
Deputy Director of District Social Services Department Noor Mohammad distributed the wheelchairs among them at a function as the chief guest by the initiative of district administration and department of the district social services office this afternoon with district disability affairs officer Humayan Kabir in the chair.
 
The chief guest said the people with special needs should be given some additional privileges for their proper rehabilitation and family integration.
 
He also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government and her daughter Saima Wazed Putul are working relentlessly for the welfare of the disabled people in society.
 
The present government has taken various programs including providing allowances to the disabled people, he added.
 
Former Principal of Naogaon Government College Professor Md. Shariful Islam Khan and Naogaon District Press Club President Md. Kayes Uddin, among others, were present on the occasion.
