GAIBANDHA, March 1, 2023 (BSS) - The National Insurance Day-2023 was observed in the district as elsewhere in the country today in a befitting manner.
 
This year's theme of the day was 'My life, my wealth, if insured, it will be safe (Amar Jibon, Amar Sampad, Bima Koriley, Thakbe Nirapod)'.
 
Marking the day, a series of programmes including bringing out a rally, distributing prizes and holding cultural function were chalked out.
 
Beside these, a discussion meeting on the importance of the day was also held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy this morning with ATM Sabud Miah, deputy general manager of Popular Insurance Company, in the chair.
 
Additional deputy commissioner (General) Sushanta Kumar Mahato attended the function as the chief guest and president of district Awami League and chairman of Gaibandha Zila Parishad Abu Bakar Siddique spoke at the event as the special guest.
 
The meeting was also addressed among others by assistant general manager of Delta life Insurance Company Asoyad Hossain and insurance development personalities Khandker Shamim Ahmed and Arbindu Saha.

The chief guest urged insurance companies to create awareness among the people about benefits of having insurance, render services and dispose of claims using digitized technologies in a hassle-free manner to accelerate national progress.
