CHAPAINAWABGANJ, March 6, 2023 (BSS) - A Chapainawabganj court today sentenced three persons to death and also fined each of them Tk 50,000 for killing a woman and her daughter.
 
The convicted persons are Md Humayun Kabir, 31, his brother Md Mahbub Alam, 32, and Md. Rubel, 33. All of them are the residents of Uparrajarampur Kumarpara under Chapainawabganj municipality. 

Additional District and Sessions Judge Md. Rabiul Islam gave the verdict in presence of Humayun Kabir and Md. Rubel, but Mahbub Alam is absconding.

According to the prosecution story, following a feud over the boundary of their houses the aforesaid convicts killed Nasima, wife of Md. Nasiruddin by slaughtering her with a machete and also killed her daughter Nila by suffocating at night on August 31, 2012. 

Being informed, police from Chapainawabganj Sadar Model thana recovered the two bodies.

Nasima's father Taimur Rahman filed a murder case with the police station accusing 10 persons.

Investigating officer of the case sub-inspector Ali Akbar submitted charge sheet to the court against six persons on January 31, 2013.

Meanwhile one of the accused persons named Mojibur Rahman died during the trial. 

After hearing 22 witnesses, the court also acquitted two accused Tohora Begum and Md Jahangir as the charges against them could not be proved.
