Panchagarh, March 7, 2023 (BSS) - The historic March 7 was observed in the district town in a befitting manner today commemorating the landmark speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which was considered as an indirect declaration of the country's independence in 1971.

On the occasion, the district administration, district unit of Awami League (AL), its associate bodies and many other organisations chalked out elaborate programmes, including placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

In the morning, lawmaker from Panchagarh constituency-1 Md Mojaharul Huque Prodhan placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu on the Circuit House premise.

Deputy Commissioner Md Johurul Islam, police Super SM Sirajul Islam, freedom fighters, government officials, Awami League and it's associate organisations also paid homage to Bangabandhu.

Marking the day, a rally was brought out from circuit house premises that paraded different roads of the district town.

Similar programmes were also held in all five upazilas of the district.
