SUNAMGANJ, March 14, 2023 (BSS) - Two people were killed and two others injured in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto rickshaw on the Sunamganj-Sylhet highway in Haluargaon area of Sadar upazila today.

The deceased were identified as Nasir Alam, 28, resident of Chattogram and Hadiul Islam Kamali, 24, resident of Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district.

The accident occurred when a Sylhet-bound truck collided head-on with a Sunamganj-bound CNG-run auto rickshaw in the area around 8am, leaving two passengers of the auto rickshaw dead on the spot and two others injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sunamganj Sadar Police Station Ikhtiyar Uddin Chowdhury said.

The injured were taken to Sunamganj 250-bed District Sadar Hospital while one was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for better treatment, he said.

The driver of the truck has been arrested, the OC added.
