NETRAKONA Mar 14, 2023 (BSS) - A farmer was killed by lightning strike at village Heluchia under Barhatta upazila here this afternoon.

Quoting the local people, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barhatta police station Lutful Haque told BSS that the victim was identified as Rehan Mia, 40, son of late Rajab Ali of the village Heluchia.

The farmer Rehan Mia was working at his Boro farm land during the light rain when a thunder bolt hit Rehan injuring him critically, the OC said.

Then, local people sent him to Netrakona Sader Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead, the OC added.
