RANGPUR, March 31, 2023 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested a presumed fraudster on charges of realising Taka six lakh from a
jobseeker promising job from his house in Uttar Khalpara village of Sadar
upazila in Panchagarh district today.
The arrested was identified as Jyotish Chandra Roy, 38, son of Dwijendranath
Roy of Uttar Khalpara village.
"On the basis of a cheating case lodged by victim Md. Masud Ali with Kotwali
Police Station in Dinajpur on February 19 last, the Crime Prevention Company
(CPC-2) of Nilphamari Camp of RAB-13 arrested Jyotish today," a press release
said.
During the preliminary interrogation, the detainee admitted that he had been
cheating people of Panchagarh, Dinajpur and other districts promising
government jobs by realizing huge money from them for a long time.
"The arrested person was handed over to Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station for
taking further legal actions against him," the release added.
