RANGPUR, April 8, 2023 (BSS) – The Rangpur divisional intelligence office of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) in a drive arrested two men with 15,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from a furniture-laden truck from Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur on Friday afternoon.
 
“As per direction of Deputy Director at Rangpur divisional intelligence office of the DNC Dilara Rahman, a special intelligence team led by inspector Md. Mozaffar Hossian Shah searched the truck at Haldibari Patrapara in Parbatipur upazila,” said Sub-inpsector Md. Sakib Sarker of the office.
 
During the hour-long search conducted from 1 pm to 2 pm, the special intelligence team of the DNC seized the huge contraband Yaba tablets and the truck with furniture and arrested the men red-handed from the spot.
 
The detainees were identified as Md. Iqbal Hossain, 45, of village Basikpur Bazar in Chandragonj police station of Lakshmipur district and Md. Arif Hossain alias Pappu, 35, of village Jhautia in Louhajong upzila of Munshiganj district.
 
“After filing a case in this connection against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act 2018, we handed them over to the Parbatipur  police ,” said sub-inspector  Sakib Sarker.
