SATKHIRA, April 24, 2023 (BSS) - Three people, including a father and son were killed and two others injured in a three-way collision between three motorcycles on the Bakchara bypass road area of the district last night.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Bari, 55, son of Azizur Rahman Sardar, resident of Narayanpur village of Kalaroa upazila, his son Rezwan Ahmad, 25, and Mahmudur Rahman, 36, son of Omar Farooq, resident of Khanpur village under Sadar upazila of the district.

The accident occurred when Mahmudur Rahman was going towards the city from Kadamtala on a motorcycle through Satkhira bypass road, as he reached Bakchara area, two more speeding motorcycles collided head-on coming from opposite direction in the area around 9pm, leaving Abdul Bari dead on the spot and four others including his son Rezwan injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkhira Sadar Police Station Abu Zihad Md. Fakhrul Alam Khan said.

The injured were taken to Satkhira Medical College and Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared Rezwan dead.

Seriously injured Mahmudur Rahman died on way to Khulna Medical College Hospital, he said.

The bodies were handed over to their family members, the OC added.
