GOPALGANJ, May 22, 2023 (BSS) - The week-long 'Land Service Week' was inaugurated on the premises of the deputy commissioner's office here aiming to make people aware of their rights to get land services.

 
On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the Deputy Commissioner's office which paraded the main streets and ended at the same place this morning.

The main objective of this year's land service week is to involve the people of the country in the smart land service initiatives.

Aiming to give smart land service at the people's doorsteps, District Administration and Sadar Upazila Land Office jointly organised the event and it will continue till May 28.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kazi Mahbubul Alam inaugurated the week as chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Musha: Nazmun Nahar in the chair.

District Awami League (AL) President Mahabub Ali Khan and Assistant Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman spoke as the special guests on the occasion.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md Golam Kabir, Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) A. Quader Sardar, senior Awami League leader Sheikh Mohammad Ruhul Amin, among others, spoke.

The DC said 'We are providing several digital land services including Registration-Mutation Interconnection, Smart Land Map, Smart Land Record and Smart Land-Pedia.

He also said that the people are now getting benefit from smart land service.

The week-long land service is being observed in other five upazilas of the district.
