RANGPUR, June 16, 2023 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a man with 52 kilograms of ganja from Banskata point on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha district today.
 
"On a tip off, an operational team from Gaibandha Camp of RAB-13 searched a Bogura-bound truck from Rangpur and seized the ganja and two mobile phone sets and arrested the man from the spot at around 6:30 am," said a press release.
 
During the raid, the elite force also seized the truck used for carrying ganja from the possession of the detainee.
 
The arrested person was identified as Md. Abul Hossain, 50, son of late Belal Hossain of village Chondipur in Kawnia upazila of Rangpur district.
 
During interrogation, the detainee admitted that he had been involved in collecting drugs tactfully from different frontier areas and supplying those to different districts for a long time.
 
"After filing a case in this connection, the elite force handed over the arrested person to Palashbari police station in Gaibandha district today," the release added.
