JOYPURHAT, June 23, 2023 (BSS) - The district unit of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies today celebrated the 74th founding anniversary of the party amid daylong programs in the district town. 
 
Leaders of the district unit of AL hoisted the national and party flags at the party office of the district and placed wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Martyr Dr. Abul Kashem Maidan. 
 
They offered special prayers for the eternal peace of all the martyrs, including Bangabandhu's family members.
 
On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out which paraded the important streets and ended at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium this morning.

Later, the district unit of AL organised a discussion at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium in the morning.
 
President of district AL Arifur Rahman Rocket presided over the discussion where leaders of the district unit of the AL and its associate bodies including, Swechchasebak League, Sramik League, Jubo League and Chhatra League were present.

District Awami League Senior Vice-President Advocate Momin Ahmed Chowdhury, Public Prosecutor Advocate Nripendranath Mondal, General Secretary of district AL Md Zakir Hossain Mondal, its Office Secretary Mizanur Rahman Tito, Golam Haqqani, Raja Chowdhury, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman SM Solaiman Ali, among others, spoke on the occasion.
 
District Awami League Senior Vice-President Advocate Momin Ahmed Chowdhury, narrated the glorious history of AL that brought independence for the nation under the leadership of Bangabandhu to build a developed "Sonar Bangla" free from hunger and exploitation.
