CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 30, 2023 (BSS) - International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking-2023 was observed in the district today with a call to build social movement and create much awareness among the people to have a drug free society.

Marking the day, the district administration and district narcotics control office under the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) chalked out the elaborate programmes.

In the morning, a big colorful rally was brought out from the deputy commissioner's office premises and after parading the main roads of the town the procession ended at the same venue.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the DC's conference room with additional district magistrate Asif Ahmed in the chair.

Deputy commissioner AKM Galiv Khan attended the meeting as the chief guest while superintendent of police Saidul Hasan, commanding officer of BGB-59 Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, civil surgeon Dr. SM Mahmudur Rashid and deputy director of Narcotics Control Department Mohammad Anisur Rahman Khan attended it as special guests.
 
Prizes were also distributed among the winners of different competitions held earlier.
