RAJSHAHI, Aug 11, 2023 (BSS) - After conducting a drive, police rescued a victim and arrested three kidnappers from a secluded place in the city last night.

According to the police sources, the rescued person was identified as Syed Monirul Islam, an ICT centre training owner and a resident of Gobindapur village Damkura Police Station in the metropolis.

The alleged kidnappers are: Akash Ali alias Shimul, 26, son of Barjahan Ali, Shafiqul Islam alias Bappy, 24, son of Rabiul Islamm, and Nur Islam, 24, son of Ruhul Amin. They are the residents of different areas in the city.

Bibhuti Bhushan Banerjee, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said a conflict had been continuing between the rescued person and the arrested ones for the last couple of months over partnership of the ICT centre.

As an outcome to previous enmity, the arrested persons demanded toll from Monirul at gunpoint and failing to get the money they kidnapped him from the ICT Training Centre at Aloker more area under Boalia Police Station in the city on August 10 last.

Subsequently, they took him to a house in the Balia area under Kasiadanga Police Station and demanded Taka 20,000 as ransom from his brother Mehedi Hassan over the phone.
Being informed, a police team conducted a sudden raid in the house and rescued the victim along with arresting the kidnappers last night promptly, the police officer added.

A case has been recorded with Kasiadanga Police Station in this connection and police action is going on to bring the others involved in this offense to book as early as possible.
