CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Aug 26, 2023 (BSS) - The 21-day fundamental training with arms for the members of Village Defence Party (VDP) ended on Friday in the district.

The concluding function was held at the hall room of the district office of Ansar-VDP with its acting district commandant Md Humayun Kabir in the chair.

Chairman of Chapainawabganj Zilla Parishad valiant Freedom Fighter Md Ruhul Amin attended it as the chief guest.

The function was addressed, among others, by circle adjutant of district Ansar-VDP Salim Reza, Shibganj upazila officer of Ansar-VDP Tarun Kumar and trainer Saklain Hossain.

The chief guest said this force played a great role in the liberation war and still their role in maintaining law and order in the grassroot level, checking drugs and smuggling is praiseworthy.

He asked the members of Ansar-VDP to become smart so that they can play a vital role in building Smart Bangladesh.

A total of 100 members took part in the second-phase training with arms, Ansar-VDP sources said.
