Construction of two roads inaugurated in Shibganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Aug 28, 2023 (BSS)-Construction of two roads were inaugurated at Shibganj upazila of the district at a cost of Tk. 1,54,96,000.

Law maker of Chapainawabganj-1 (Shibganj) constituency and a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs Dr. Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul inaugurated the development work as chief guest yesterday.

Of them, the 800-metre road from Ekbarpur intersection to Chaktola via Daktartola would be constructed as a paved road. The contract price is Tk.68,23,000.

The another 750-metre road from Vinodpur UP office to Biswanathpur Hat via Capratola would be paved at a cost of Tk. 86,73,000.

On this occasion, discussions and prayers were organized at Capratola intersection. Binodpur Union Awami League General Secretary Jamil Uddin presided over the programme.

The chief guest said that the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a role model for development today. Padma Bridge has been constructed with our own funding. Railway construction work is progressing. Bangabandhu tunnel is being built in Chittagong under the river.

Metro rail has been built in Dhaka. "We have been freed from the corona epidemic under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister. MDG has been implemented, SDG is on the way. In the meantime, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the mother of humanity, the blessed daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has announced the building of Smart Bangladesh by 2041 and the Delta Plan by 2100," he added.

He further added that there is no alternative to the victory of boat in the coming twelfth national parliamentary election to continue this trend of development. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina should be brought back to power. If not, the development of the country will be hindered, he said again.

Among others, chairman of Chapainawabganj Zila Parishad Md. Ruhul Amin, upazila Awami League joint general secretary Tohidul Alam Tia and former labour affairs secretary of the Upazila Khairul Islam spoke on the occasion.
