HABIGANJ, Sept 17, 2023 (BSS) - Three children drowned in three separate

ponds in Madhobpur and Sadar upazilas of the district yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Fatema, hailed from Daspara village and
Nilima Debnath, 2, an inhabitant of Etakhola village in Madhobpur upazila and
one and a half-year old Shifa Akter, a resident of Bahula village in Sadar
upazila.

Fatema and Nilima drowned in the ponds adjacent to their houses while they
were playing near the water bodies respectively in the noon.

After recovering them from the separate ponds, they were rushed to Madhobpur
Upazila Health Complex where the duty-doctor declared them dead.

Besides, Shifa drowned in another pond on Saturday afternoon at Bahula in
Habiganj sadar upazila, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Thana Ajoy
Chandra Dev.
